The Mandt System is a trauma-informed, relationship-based training program that teaches staff how to support individuals during moments of crisis or emotional distress—without using fear, force, or control. It emphasizes proactive communication, de-escalation strategies, and building trust over time.
At PNW Roots, all staff are certified in the Mandt System to ensure every interaction prioritizes safety, dignity, and emotional well-being. This approach is essential to our work, especially for individuals with a history of trauma, as it creates a foundation of respect and reduces the need for restrictive interventions.
